Incense
Outside of scented candles, incense is one of the best ways to liven up a room with good scents and freshness. There is a lot to be desired when you live in a house with kids, pets, or anything else of that nature as far as smells goes, but incense can help you. If you live in a house where you can not feel safe having an open flame in a precarious position, you can rest assured that incense will never have an open flame. If it gets knocked over, chances are that your incense burner will quickly extinguish itself.
One of the great things about incense that somewhat sets it apart from scented candles is the price. Where candles can cost a couple of bucks apiece, you can buy bulk incense for the same price and have more incense sticks than you can count. Also, there are so many different types of incense out there and depending on what your tastes are, the possibilities are virtually endless.
You can get Japanese pig incense, Tibetan incense, bamboo incense sticks, gonesh incense and other types of natural incense. The downside to incense is that it produces a type of smoke that not everybody can deal with. For some people, their reaction to incense and the smell of incense whether it is burning or not is somewhat like an allergy and in such a case it is important to find another alternative to adding a good scent to your room.

Most people are not allergic to incense, however, and if you think you are you should examine other things in your home or even other types of incense before you give up on it altogether.
If you have never tried incense, you might be amazed at what it can do for your home. The possibilities are endless and there is so much to be found in incense. It comes in every flavor and scent, in long and short incense sticks, and even really thick incense sticks that can burn for hours and hours.
There is nothing quite like the fresh, musky smell of an incense stick burning. Light one, walk out of your home and walk back in and you will surely see the difference in your home. Incense is an often overlooked way of freshening your home and even covering offensive odors. Try it out for yourself and see.
