Yoga Chants
Center yourself. Close your eyes. Take a deep breath in and on the exhale say ahh. This is the basis of yoga chants. When you are a beginning yoga exerciser you need to be able to focus your mind and body together. One of the most important things about yoga is in your opening and closing yoga chants. When you are a beginning student you will start with something simple like ahh and then move on to more specific phrases. You opening and closing yoga chants are very personal and are just to get you centered before you begin the movements.
When you are a beginning student it is highly likely that your yoga instructor will provide a yoga chant for you to follow. This may be something as simple as breathing in and out on a soft hollow vowel sound. What you are doing is connecting your diaphragm and getting your core centered. You're yoga opening chant can be very basic and very simple. You just want to be able to free your mind from the stresses of the day and take a moment for yourself before you get in touch with the muscles of your body. Don't take anything too complicated as your yoga opening chant because you want to be able to settle in to your yoga poses quickly and easily.
